Hot Temps : Hot Racing

It was exciting and close racing all around the track today in the eight races sailed at Act 8 of the Extreme Sailing Series here in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. With thermometers in town reading 37 degrees Celsius at 10 am as we headed for the boat, we knew we were in for a hot day, but the wind came in and provided fantastic breeze for eight races where we were finally able to move up the leader board by one place to seventh.

More Ups Than Downs Today In Rio

It was again another up and down day, but for us on Team GAC Pindar, we had a lot more ups than yesterday thankfully at Act 8 of the Extreme Sailing Series. With eight races sailed we came home with a 1, 2, 3, 4 in four of them. Although it didn't raise us up the leader board overall, we did close the gap a little on points heading into the final two days of racing.

Act 8 Extreme40's - Day 1

It was a bit of a day of snakes and ladders as skipper Andrew Walsh called it after the second race of today in Act 8, the final act of the Extreme Sailing Series here in Rio. Unfortunately for Team GAC Pindar, we found more snakes than ladders today. After six races, we are towards the bottom of the results table, but have our eyes set on climbing back up over the next three days of racing.

4th Overall At Act 7, Extreme Sailing Series

It was a tough day on the water today, the final day of racing at Act 7 of the Extreme S
ailing Series here in Nice, France. However,Team GAC Pindar held onto their fourth place overall rank in the regatta despite a few challenging races.

  Representing the USA, Anna Tunnicliffe won the Gold Medal in the Women's Laser Radial dinghy at the 2008 Olympic Games in Qingdao, China. Anna was the ISAF world's Number One-ranked women's Radial sailor from April 9, 2008 to May 2010.  She was voted 2009 & 2011 ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year.  Now Anna, skipper of Team Maclaren, has teamed up with Molly O'Bryan Vandemoer and Debbie Capozzi to take on the world and go for Gold in 2012 London Olympic Games in Women's Match Racing and the team is currently ranked #1 in the ISAF WMR rankings.
