What an amazing place to sail; and in some fun, but incredibly heavy and slow-responding (it's all relative) boats. Today was practice day for our team for the 2010 Argo Group Gold Cup.
It was a picture perfect day with an 8-12kt south south easterly
blowing over the hill into Hamilton Harbor, the site for the racing. It
was warm and the wind was puffy and shifty making for some hard, but
fun sailing.

To
be honest, I don't even know how to start this blog. I'm laying here
in tears because we didn't do it today. We lost our knockout 1-2 to
Ekaterina Skudina from Russia. After being behind in the final race, we
had a chance to pass within our grasp in the last race, but couldn't
quite get it and again we were beaten by a boat length at the finish
line.

It was a long, but successful day for us today at the ISAF World Match Racing Championships.
After failing to advance to the gold round yesterday, we had to battle
today in the repecharge to win our way into the knockout series for the
last two spots for the quarter finals. We managed to win our group with
a 5-1 record; tied for first, but won the tie against Netherlands'
Renee Groeneveld.

Despite the great racing that we had today, we just missed automatically qualifying for the gold round and quarter finals, and have to win our way in through the repecharge. We sailed five races today and finished 3-2 today to take our total to 6-3.
