Team Maclaren Won Gold At 2011 Skandia Sail For Gold

Team Maclaren won the gold medal today at the 2011 Skandia Sail for Gold regatta and took the overall lead in the ISAF Sailing World Cup rankings.  Although it was an exciting day of racing, we were able to take the series 3-0 over GBR's Lucy Macgregor and team and bring home the gold.

Long, Successful Day : Finals Tomorrow

It was a long day of sailing today at the 2011 Skandia Sail for Gold regatta, but a successfull one as Team Maclaren advances into tomorrow's finals against GBR's Lucy Macgregor and team. After finishing 3-0 in the quarterfinals this morning against France's Anne Claire Le Berre, we went on to defeat France's Claire Leroy 3-1 to secure a spot in the finals.

Third Seed For Quarter Finals Tomorrow

It was another great day of sailing in Weymouth at the 2011 Skandia Sail for Gold regatta. The conditions were near perfect as day four's racing got underway at 9:30 this morning for the repecharge group. We started sailing around 11am with three scheduled races to be completed to finish our gold fleet round robin. We went 2-1 today, making our round record 3-2 and finishing as the third seed going into tomorrow's quarterfinal round. We will be racing the number six seed, France's Anne Claire Le Berre and team.

A So-So Day Before Being Sent In For High Winds And Breakdowns

It was a windy day today by the time gold fleet finally got racing. We had an OK day finishing 1-1 in the two races we completed. Shortly after the finish of the second race, the fleet was sent in as the winds were consistently 22-26kts, gusting 30kts, and breakdowns were happening frequently on the boats.

Olympic Gold Medalist, World Class Woman Laser Radial Sailor And Now World Class Women's Match Racer

  Representing the USA, Anna Tunnicliffe won the Gold Medal in the Women's Laser Radial dinghy at the 2008 Olympic Games in Qingdao, China. Anna was the ISAF world's Number One-ranked women's Radial sailor from April 9, 2008 to May 2010.  She was voted 2009 & 2011 ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year.  Now Anna, skipper of Team Maclaren, has teamed up with Molly O'Bryan Vandemoer and Debbie Capozzi to take on the world and go for Gold in 2012 London Olympic Games in Women's Match Racing and the team is currently ranked #1 in the ISAF WMR rankings.
