Manhasset, NY
Today was day 3 of the 2009 Knickerbocker Cup. The rest of the teams finished up the round robin and then we went into the quarterfinals. The top 6 teams after the round robin advanced. We finished the round 3rd overall behind Dave Perry (USA) and Keith Swinton (AUS).

The rain stopped and the temperature warmed up as we started to head out for the racing. After a boat draw we started to get into the round. We had an unfortunate first race where we were over on the start line and ended up being way behind up the first leg and could never catch up. The next two races we weren’t able to win the leeward side of the line and were forced right on the race course, which was not fast. The last race we finally achieved what we wanted to do and won the race handily to finish the day with a 1-3 record.

We have one race left tomorrow
with a shot at advancing to the semi-finals, but we will have to see
what happens in other matches before we will know. You can
check the results on the event website.
I would like to thank Carmeuse
and Gill for their support of our team for this event.
