Team Maclaren Back Together For CMRC Gr3 PDF  | Print |  E-mail

September 26, 2012
Chicago, IL

debbie_c.jpgDebbie just added another great result to her resume after finishing second at the US Match Racing Nationals this past weekend. Now, Team Maclaren is back racing together this Thursday and Friday at the Chicago Match Race Center Grade 3 Invitational A regatta.

Firstly, last Sunday, Debbie finished second at the US Match Racing National Championships crewing for coach Dave Dellenbaugh after two hard fought come backs in both the semi and final rounds. They were down 0-2 at the beginning of both series but were able to rally back and win the last three in the semi's over Dave Perry to advance to the finals. In the finals, it was a similar picture at the beginning before they came back to tie up the series 2-2 against Taylor Canfield (US Virgin Islands). Taylor went on to take the last race.

This week, Debbie and I will be sailing in Chicago, but unfortunately Molly is unable to make the event. However, joining us will be Mike Rehe and Tyler Black. It is the first time in a long time that we have had a mixed team and we are very excited for Mike and Tyler to be sailing with us.

Today was a practice day where we worked on our team dynamic, communication and boat handling, with racing starting tomorrow early so we can get in all the racing by Friday evening. The regatta will be tweeted live at CMRC, and results will be posted on the regatta website.
